Aashok Gulati (b. 1980) is a celebrated Indian abstract artist based in Delhi, renowned for his profound exploration of cosmic energy and surrealism. His artistic journey is deeply influenced by his fascination with the universe, which he translates into evocative mixed-media compositions blending dark charcoal patterns with vibrant organic colors.
Gulati's work predominantly revolves around themes of cosmic energy and its mysterious power, depicted through expressive forms on archival and handmade papers. His technique involves the use of water-based Indian and Chinese inks, complemented by natural resins, creating artworks that resonate with both visual allure and conceptual depth. Aashok completed his graduation from the College of Arts, Chandigarh, specializing in Graphic Art. Gulati has participated extensively in national and international exhibitions. Between 2002 and 2008, the artist participated in numerous exhibitions, showcasing diverse artworks across esteemed venues. Highlights include group shows at Garhi Gallery and Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, and solo exhibitions at the Hungarian Cultural Center and Dhoomimal Gallery, among others. He has also participated in international events such as the International Biennial Exhibition of Humour & Satire in Bulgaria and various curated group exhibitions like the Artecurate Mumbai Art Festival and the Alliance Silver Jubilee Exhibition in Chandigarh.
