Dinkar Jadhav (b. 1973), from Jadhavadi, Pune, emerges as a celebrated artist known for his exuberant and dynamic artworks. Inspired deeply by the legendary J.M.W Turner, Jadhav has embraced the technique of Impasto, infusing his paintings with a lively 'movement' quality that sets his work apart. His artistic journey to these romantic yet challenging realms of creative excellence began with the evocative "Ashwa Chitramala".
Jadhav's unique style of using color evokes a profound sense of freedom and spirit through structured forms. His collection spans a variety of styles, each piece a testament to his versatility and creativity. He crafts compositions with cubistic, colorful fragments juxtaposed against assertive contour lines, all enveloped in an ebullient color palette. Renowned for his Ashwa Chitramala series, Jadhav paints horses in bold, vibrant palettes symbolizing passion, struggle, and freedom. His canvases often feature celestial bodies—the Sun and the Moon—infusing elements of eternal romance. Central to his thematic exploration is "Lust for Love", rendered in acrylics and charcoal with the fluidity of watercolors, depicting horse couples in scenes of passionate ardor.
Jadhav's journey in the art world began with studies at Kala Vishwa Mahavidyalaya, Sangli, and Abhinav Kala Vidyalaya in Pune. He earned his Government Diploma (G.D. Art) in Drawing & Painting in 1994 from Pune, marking the foundation of his artistic prowess. With 8 solo exhibitions and over 100 national and international group shows—including charitable endeavors—Jadhav's art has graced prestigious platforms worldwide. His accolades include awards from esteemed institutions like the Bombay Art Society, Art Society of India, and Prafulla Art Foundation, among others. His works adorn corporate and private collections in India and abroad, solidifying his place as an artist whose canvases resonate with vibrant narratives of passion and exploration.
