Anshul Gupta (b. 1980), raised in the vibrant cultural milieu of Delhi, is a distinguished contemporary artist whose personal journey is as dynamic as her art. Gupta has seamlessly integrated her artistic pursuits with her professional life, enriching her creative approach through her dedication to art therapy, which blends therapeutic practices with artistic expression.
Her work is characterized by a unique blend of vibrancy, effervescent calmness, and humble power, which she strives to infuse into every canvas. Within the confines of a square frame, Gupta creates worlds that transcend the mundane, employing spaces that are vividly alive and intensely colourful. She believes that art has the power to lift one from the logical and ordinary, encouraging exploration of the mind and soul to reach beyond daily reality. Her soothing colour palette and the joyful emotions embedded in her works are integral to her style, which fuses traditional techniques with modern sensibilities. She employs a range of mediums, including acrylics and oils, demonstrating full command over these materials to create works that are both aesthetically beautiful and profoundly meaningful. Her paintings often address themes of identity, personal growth, and emotional healing, transcending mere visual experience to offer an exploration of personal and collective human experiences.
After a successful career in software engineering, Gupta embarked on her artistic path by pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Delhi (2018) and a Diploma in Professional Commercial Art (2015). She has garnered numerous accolades and awards, including the National Award in India, the Rising Star title from India Records (2019-2021), and the Innerwheel Impact Award (2018-2019). Gupta was honored with the Best Woman Artist Award by the Art Beats Foundation (2021), the Gold Medal and Excellence Award from India Records (2021), and the Amrita Sher-Gill Kala Award (2023). Her work has been showcased in both national and international exhibitions, including notable venues such as Lalit Kala Akademi and Venice Mall. She has participated in prestigious art fairs and solo exhibitions and continues to influence and inspire the art community as an Advisory Board Member for Rising Youth Superstars of India (2023).
