Vivek Nimbolkar (b. 1977), an artist based in Mumbai, attributes his artistic journey to his mother's intricate embroidery, which ignited a profound fascination with natural geometry. This early influence has shaped his exploration at the intersection of design and artistic expression, where his compositions achieve a delicate balance of boldness and softness.

Nimbolkar’s artistic odyssey unfolds as a voyage from realism to abstraction, where he endeavors to encapsulate the essence of existence, privileging experience above mere depiction. His paintings are abstracts with patchwork patterns and designs. To elevate a painting into a work of marvel, Nimbolkar invents his own shades using light and dark components. His series illuminates the dualities inherent in nature, employing fluid abstractions and mixed media to evoke profound emotional depths. Vivek's distinctive perspective imbues his works with geometric motifs and shapes, transforming natural forms into simplified circular motifs while juxtaposing contrasting inner shapes and hues. This interplay mirrors the celestial dance of the Sun and Moon: the Sun, represented as the Bindu, echoing S.H. Raza's influence and governing daily rhythms; while the Moon's shifting phases symbolize variability. His reflections on natural forms, diverging from urban skyscrapers, span both microcosm and macrocosm, enriching his artistic narrative with profound contemplation and visual poetry.

Educationally, Nimbolkar holds five degrees in art education, including a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad (2012), and a Master of Arts in Indology from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune (2008). His dedication to the arts is reflected in his numerous accolades, such as the National Award from the Government of Telangana, Hyderabad (2021), and the Lokamanya Tilak Award, Pune (2019). He has also participated in numerous exhibitions, including solo shows at Gandhi Art Gallery in Buldhana (1998), Hussain Art Gallery in Pune (2002), ICA Gallery in Jaipur (2021), and Art2day Gallery in Pune (2022).
