Madhuri Bhaduri, born on June 8, 1958, is a Pune-based artist with over four decades of dedication to her passion for art. Initially a national-level sportsperson in badminton and squash, Bhaduri transitioned to painting in 1977. She earned a Master's in Art from the University of Mumbai in 1988 and exhibited her work at the Bal Gandharva Art Gallery two years prior. Bhaduri's versatile style encompasses abstract art, landscapes, and figurative paintings, primarily using oils but also venturing into abstract sculpture in 2002.
In her extensive career, Bhaduri has garnered acclaim from private collectors, including notable figures such as Gayatri Devi, Ajay Piramal, Aditya Vikram Birla, and Jamshed Bhabha. Represented by Agora Gallery, New York, her work has reached international audiences, with a solo exhibition in Dubai. Recognized with the All Ladies League award for ""Iconic leadership in Art, Design & Entrepreneurship"" and the Sarojini Naidu National Award for Women in 2016, Bhaduri's studio, Studio M, is situated in Pune, where she has lived throughout her life. Her artistic evolution began in the 1970s, and she has showcased her paintings in over 43 solo exhibitions and 100 group shows, enriching her journey with encounters with art enthusiasts and industry luminaries worldwide.
