Sanjay Chakraborty (b. 1974) stands as a luminary in the art world, his canvases resonating with the spiritual essence and cultural richness of India's mythological heritage. Based in West Bengal, India, Chakraborty's journey into art was deeply influenced by his grandfather and the traditions of his Brahmin upbringing. This heritage, interwoven with religious traditions, profoundly shapes his artistic sensibilities and thematic explorations.

Chakraborty's childhood was marked by economic hardship, thereby he found solace and escape in the world of art. His works radiate positivity through a prismatic color scheme, gradually fading into hues of white, crafting his signature palette. Themes of spirituality, cultural heritage, and the vibrant landscapes of Banaras form the heartbeats of his art. His series and collections, including "The Ganges," "The Sign of Growth," "Seven Horses," and his vibration paintings, intricately weave prismatic colors, creating luminous palettes that exude vitality. Symbolic elements, notably the significance of the number seven, enrich each composition, adding layers of meaning to his narratives. Chakraborty's brushwork evokes a palpable sense of texture, whether capturing the rugged solidity of stone, the coarse roughness of brick, or the fluidity of water. His deft strokes bring forth an almost tangible feel of each depicted element, seamlessly blending technique and artistry.

Despite challenges in his educational path, Chakraborty pursued his academic studies at Nikhil Bharat Sangeet Samiti and Bangla Kala Kendra, earning a five-year diploma in painting. His solo exhibitions showcase an evolution in his artistry, captivating audiences with their thematic depth and vibrant aesthetics. In 2021, his solo exhibition "Amalgam" at Uchaan Art Gallery, Gurugram, epitomized his ability to blend diverse influences into cohesive narratives. He also featured prominently as a solo artist at World Art Dubai in 2020 and the India Art Festival in Delhi in 2019, where his works delved into spiritual and cultural insights. In recognition of his contributions to the arts, Chakraborty received The Times of India Education Icon Award.
