Francesca Amalia Grimaldi (b. 1965) is a distinguished Italian artist whose journey is deeply influenced by her family's artistic and musical traditions. Raised amidst classical compositions and her father's paintings, she developed an early appreciation for the arts. Her unique path includes a degree in Geological Sciences, blending scientific insight with a passion for Art History and nature.

Grimaldi’s style evolved from figurative to abstract expressionism, marked by vibrant, atmospheric palettes. Her early works draw from Sardinia and Sicily's landscapes, capturing the blues of the sea, earthy sand dunes, and wind-bent junipers. Transitioning to abstraction, these colors persisted, showcased through mixed media on canvas—oils, acrylics, watercolors, soft pastels, and oil pastels. Her abstract pieces, rich in layered textures and emotional depth, explore mosaics and water, evoking marine life's essence and natural moods, as seen in "Under the Sea."

Grimaldi studied at the Florence Academy of Art “Accademia Riaci” in Perspective Drawing, Painting Techniques, and Jewelry Design during the late ‘80s and ‘90s. She debuted with a solo exhibition in 1987 at the Atrium gallery in Pordenone and has since participated in numerous exhibitions across Italy.
