Kumar Vikas Saxena (b. 1975), spent his childhood in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. He learned art from his surroundings and spent much of his childhood in the mountains of Uttarakhand, where he developed a deep love for nature by spending time alone in the lush pine forests, characterized by a textured rawness that reflects nature's rustic beauty.

The artist is fascinated by grand structures, particularly heritage and historical sites. He admires the designers behind these magnificent buildings and feels a deep connection to history. His travels in India and abroad, visiting old forts, temples, churches, and monuments, particularly Indian temples and Buddhist sites in Sri Lanka, China, and Thailand, greatly influence his art, offering a fresh perspective enriched by European heritage structures. He dreams about historical structures, capturing the blurred images of these dreams on his canvas in a surrealist way, depicting the coexistence of human civilization and nature, portraying both aspects: nature suffering under man-made structures and flourishing alongside humans.

After completing a Master's in Painting from Kumaun University in 2002, Kumar Vikas Saxena founded the non-profit organization "Sashaktikaran" to promote arts and crafts. The organization has led numerous national and international art projects in collaboration with the ICCR, Government of India, various embassies, Lalit Kala Academy, and the Uttarakhand Culture Department. These include international art exhibitions, artist exchange projects, and art camps for both established and emerging artists. Notable initiatives include SAARC Nation Art Camp, India-Germany Art Projects in Berlin and New Delhi, and artist residences and shows with countries like China, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Thailand. Saxena also curated the Museum Inauguration Exhibition for the Uttarakhand Culture Department and spearheaded the "Cultural Diversity through Art" project with multiple embassies.
