Ranabir Saha (b. 1976) finds his muse in the everyday and the ephemeral, weaving his visual narratives with the delicate threads of nature and contemporary life's ever-shifting tapestry. A native of Kolkata, Saha's artistic journey commenced in his youth, blossoming into a vocation that has seen him capture the transient beauty and complexity of modern existence.

In his oeuvre, ordinary objects—mobile phones, shopping bags, plastic chairs—are transformed into poignant symbols, each piece a meditation on the pulse of societal change and personal introspection. The mundane becomes extraordinary under Saha's gaze, his works a vivid chronicle of the minutiae of daily life. The textured backgrounds, crafted from newspapers and bandages, add a palpable depth to his canvases, merging photorealism with bold, expressive lines. These elements coalesce to create a haunting commentary on environmental degradation, reflecting the artist's concern for the planet's future.

Saha's academic foundation was laid at the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata, where he earned his bachelor's degree in visual arts in 2001. His career is adorned with numerous exhibitions, both group and solo, which have brought his work to audiences across national and international stages. His accolades are a testament to his artistic prowess: the Governor Award (West Bengal), the Gold Medal from the Government College of Art & Craft, and the prestigious Green Shield Award from the Elizabeth Green Shield Foundation in the U.S. and Canada, among others. These honours not only celebrate his artistic achievements but also his unwavering dedication to his craft and his impactful contributions to the discourse of contemporary art.
