Renuka Sondhi Gulati, (b.1967) born in Agra and raised in a conventional business family from a small town in Pathankot, transitioned from a career as an art teacher to a full-time artist after moving to Delhi in 2005, she was profoundly inspired by Delhi's vibrant art scene. Her dynamic and evolving oeuvre embodies art in motion.

Renuka Gulati is a multidisciplinary artist whose work seamlessly merges reality with mythical dimensions, creating a futuristic vision through the fluidity of form spanning across her sculptures, paintings, digital art, and installations. Nature and women serve as central protagonists in her art, her artistic style is often described as ‘surrealistic contemporary Through her sculptures, Gulati delves into themes of love, family, and unity, both physical and spiritual. Her canvases are renowned for their unique textures, subtle colour palettes, and fine drawing techniques. By employing metal installations with layered laser-cut designs, she creates a three-dimensional effect against bold washes and textured backgrounds, channelling nature’s energy. Renuka Gulati’s large-scale oil paintings and smaller paper works explore women in dynamic and introspective states, while her meticulously chiselled sculptures balance realistic and distorted forms, appealing to the beholder. Driven by a desire to highlight feminine power, Gulati consistently portrays women as embodiments of resilience and strength. Her innovative digital art has garnered national acclaim, and she seeks to further blend nature and technology to craft immersive experiences. Renuka’s formal education includes a B.A., B.Ed., M.A. and a Diploma in Textile Design, with mentorship under Shri Sanjay Roy and Shri Rameshwar Broota at Triveni Kala Sangam. Gulati has garnered several prestigious accolades, including the National Senior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture (2012-14), the International Best Sculpture Award in Malta (2011) and national awards from AIFACS. Her first art exhibition, ‘Elements in Space ‘and some Notable solo exhibitions include those at Agora Gallery, New York (2020-21), and the Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi (2013). Gulati has made substantial contributions to significant installation projects for the Delhi Metro. Her work is held in prestigious collections, including the Indian Council for Cultural Relations in New Delhi (2013), the Cabinet Secretariat at Rashtrapati Bhawan (2017), World Art Dubai (2021), and the 58th National Art Conclave in Bangalore (2017). her work also featured in the private collections of the former Vice President of India and various prominent collectors both in India and abroad.
